Altrincham based J Davidson has acquired a brand new flagship vehicle. The Scania R730 6×2 Topline truck is the latest addition to the Altrincham based scrap-dealer’s fleet.

The James-Bond themed truck is named ‘Live and Let Die’ after the classic film. The vehicle is decorated with airbrushed images of the spy’s various incarnations including Sean Connery, Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan as well as host of favourite characters from the movies.

The truck was the flagship vehicle for J Davidsons’ fleet in their showcase at Peterborough’s ‘Truckfest’ event on May 6 and 7 and is one of four themed trucks which they exhibited at the event.

Others in the collection include a Volvo FH16 ‘Terminator’ themed truck in addition to airbrushed trucks based on the Iron Man movies and popular Burnout video games.

Managing Director Jamie Davidson said: “The truck was one of the main attractions at Truckfest and it isn’t hard to see why. It not only looks great, but is also equipped to the latest specifications to meet the demands of our customers. We’re very happy with this new addition to our fleet. J Davidson Scrap Metal Processors has been given planning permission to operate its scrap metal processing operation from a new state of the art site in Craven Rd, Broadheath.

The two acre site, already operating as a depollution centre for end of life vehicles, will be the new head office for J Davidson’s scrap processing centre. They will still keep a presence at their current site on Viaduct Rd, Broadheath.

The new site is equipped with state of the art depollution equipment, a new generation Lefort Mid Way 1,000 tonne shear in addition to bailing, compacting and shredding equipment.

The council planning committee unanimously approved the scheme, with Councillor Phil Gratrix, commenting that “The operation looks well managed” by J Davidson.

Managing Director Jamie Davidson expressed his delight at the decision; “The move is a major milestone in the company’s history. Our new purpose built site sets us apart from other scrap metal companies. It provides our employees and customers with a clean and safe environment to work in and visit. With newly equipped offices, a customer waiting area and ample parking, we look forward to seeing all our customers at our new site when we officially open in June 2012.

Following the great response from our first foray into TV advertising just before Christmas, J Davidson’s will be back on your screens from Monday 20^th February, bigger and better with a new advertising campaign. The thirty second advert will air between Emmerdale and Coronation Street on ITV this Monday, building on the success of our first campaign at the end of last year.

The campaign which will run until the first week in March will also be appearing alongside programmes such as The Alan Titchmarsh Show, This Morning, Midsomer Murders and the England vs Holland friendly football match.

The advert is designed to target customers who are thinking of replacing their car as the new March registration plate draws near.

This time around, the advertising has been given a minimalist style, with a punchy red background and bold typography. Using graphic based animation and playful imagery, the ad really brings the J Davidson brand to life. Keep a look out for it and let us know what you think.

Professional scrappers J Davison have thrown their hat in the ring to support a different type of scrapper, by backing Coldwell Boxing and their exciting upcoming fight night, being held at the DeVere Whites Premier Suite, Bolton Reebok Stadium on the 11^th March.

Called the Italian Job, the night’s main event is a match between Manchester’s former two-time British Champion David Barnes v Italy’s Giuseppe Lauri. The card also features former British Champion and Prizefighter winner Prince Arron, along with eight other bouts including Lancashire fighter Matty Clarkson and Colwell’s new pro signing, top amateur Hosea Burton. Fight goers will also be entertained by the Coldwell Wildcat dancing girls and new dance band BB. This is the first of three events for Coldwell Boxing in Bolton/Manchester during 2012.

Coldwell Commercial Director, Damien Harry said: “Coldwell Boxing are delighted to be working with J Davidson at this show. J Davidson sponsored Manchester Phoenix continue their strong start to the 2012 season with another win against Telford Tigers on Saturday.

Josh Ward scored his first ever goal for the club and earned the well deserved title of man of the match.

Phoenix, who have now won 13 of the last 16 games, scored 3 goals in each period to cruise to victory on Saturday night.

Goals from Slava Koulikov, Ladislav Harabin and Martin Cingel got the home side going in the first period, whilst Ryan Johnson and a Tom Duggan double saw Phoenix lead 6-0 at the second break.

“I am very pleased with the performance. We showed how well we can play, and how well we understand each other. Telford are a hard team to play against, and you need a strong start to set the tone. We did that, and reaped the reward.” said player coach Tony Hand.

Phoenix now look forward to a home double header this weekend in Altrincham with a cup semi final clash against Guildford Flames on Saturday and a visit from Milton Keynes on Sunday.
