In a new survey commissioned by Lloyds TSB, it appears that Spain topped the poll for happiest expat destination in the world. With over 1000 expats participating in the survey from the top ten most popular destinations, Spain came out on top with 75.9% of Brits saying they were happier than when they were living in the UK.
Factors such as the outdoor lifestyle, traditional family values and positive outlook on life were said to be contributors to Spain’s popularity despite the economic troubles that have been experienced by the country, which one expat describing the effects of the economy as; ‘despite the economic downturn, we have never been happier’.
